Mr Jesús Gamallo Aller, Director General for External Relations and Relations with the European Union, Regional Government of Galicia and member of the Committee of the Regions' Working Group on Ukraine, met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Spain, H.E. Yuliia Sokolovska.
During the meeting, Mr Gamallo highlighted the Committee of the Regions' continued support for Ukraine through its Working Group on Ukraine, which is expected to evolve into a Joint Consultative Committee. He also shared with the Ambassador the CoR's 10-point support package for Ukraine.
Mr Gamallo underlined Galicia's commitment to supporting Ukraine, including through development cooperation funding. He also noted Galicia's participation in the TIPS4UA programme and announced that the region will host a Ukrainian delegation in September.
Finally, Mr Gamallo informed the Ambassador that Galicia is currently working on a Memorandum of Understanding with Odesa Oblast, further strengthening cooperation and solidarity with Ukraine.
